Testimonials

Weill Cornell Medical College – Project Manager

"We were very pleased with the performance of J.A Jennings. They provided us with a full-time superintendent that was very knowledgeable, easy to work with and supervised the trades well.  We had a project manager that was very involved.  Part of the work area was occupied and they were able to schedule the work in a way that minimized the disruption to the operating medical practice, which was often very challenging. The site was very clean at all times.

The quality of work and finishes was very good.  They were very responsive and punch list work was completed efficiently. The physician practice manager for this location was very happy with the level of coordination and service.
Change orders totaled about 11% of the construction award.  All were either accepted alternates to the bid, changes necessary due to uncovered field conditions, or changes that we added to the scope."

"I would like to praise the work and effort of J.A. Jennings, Inc. and “J” Jennings in particular.

“J” had the unenviable task of overseeing the demolition and build-out of our space. We are extremely pleased with the efforts he made along with Mike Zilm, the site superintendent and his entire staff.
The project was on a tight deadline and the final product fully meets our expectations.

“J’s” gracious manner and responsiveness have been appreciated throughout the process. His staff was professional at all times, well-organized and client-oriented. The workmanship has been of the highest quality and his attention to detail admired.
In sum, we are very pleased with and grateful for the selection of J.A. Jennings as our general contractor on this project."

Q: Did J.A. Jennings stay under budget, or were there any cost overruns?

A: Jennings did a good job of managing the budget and keeping the job on track in this regard.

Q: Did they produce a schedule that was accurate? Were there any delays?
A: No. As a matter of fact, together with their assistance, we found way to improve the schedule by streamlining some of the prior construction methodology used in other locations enabling the installation of the stone more cost effective and less time consuming.

Q: With regards to your overall experience with J.A. Jennings, did you find the principals/supers/project managers to be responsive to requests/changes or did you run into any communication challenges?
A: We found their team to be very cooperative with hands-on involvement from senior management and have since worked with them on other projects due to our experience on this project.

Stewart F. Minskoff  – Construction Consultant/Owner’s Representative

"The NYU Langone School of Medicine, through the Construction & Facilities Management Department, contracted J.A. Jennings Inc. to perform extensive renovation work at the old Department of Health Building for the Parasitology practice. The project involved multi-phased schedule on all seven floors and adjacent to the existing personnel and equipment. As such, this was a very difficult way to perform construction.

Despite the obstacles of working under less than ideal conditions, Jennings executed to the satisfaction of all involved. As an added bonus, they were able to bring the project in under budget.

Sometimes you need the personal attention of a private company that understands the healthcare industry to deliver what you are expecting to receive. During my 30 plus years in the building business, I have rarely made recommendations of construction companies. In this case, I have no reservations about the quality of this company and unquestionable integrity of Mr. James A. Jennings, III. A true rarity in the industry."

"You have a great company. Your team did an outstanding job with Starbucks at 250; also I recall how you saved $150,000 in the white box. Jennings looks out for the client. Your father would be proud."

“250” is the property at 250 West 57th Street where J.A. Jennings provided construction services for the retail store infrastructure containing Starbucks, an AT &T Future Store and other retail storefronts. The father reference pertains to James A. Jennings’, III father who previously owned the firm.
