To manage your project, J.A. Jennings, Inc. uses the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) Master Format ™ Division List, the industry standard for organizing specifications and other written information for commercial and institutional building projects in the U.S. and Canada.

• Regular progress/cost reports and meeting minutes are shared with the architect, building owner and other involved parties.
• Together, with the architect and engineer, we establish goals for shop drawing submittals and review procedures that keep the project on schedule.
• Safety and security procedures are of utmost importance. All contractors are required to sign in and out each day. The field superintendent records who was on the job site and what company was represented.
• We maintain a clean workplace that minimally impacts other building occupants. All contractors also have strict guidelines for areas they can and cannot traverse, including assigned restroom facilities and eating areas.
• As needed, we coordinate furniture, furnishing and equipment (FF&E) delivery and installation.

During pre-construction, our team consults with your team—the building owner, architect, engineer, and other involved parties—to develop a strong rapport, gain a thorough understanding of the project vision, and establish clear lines of communication.

• Our value engineering services begin by analyzing all construction elements for coordination, constructability, suitability and performance of systems and materials.
• We develop the project budget, cost estimates, and the construction timeline, identifying longer lead items and recommending pre-purchase when appropriate.
• Each project is carefully considered by our senior estimators and closely monitored by a principal of the firm.
• To minimize impact on adjacent tenanted spaces, traffic flow is reviewed, and construction is scheduled around any pre-planned events.
• A timeline is established with each subcontractor and material supplier, and progress is monitored daily. When necessary, J.A. Jennings, Inc. also visits the fabricator to review manufacturing progress and ensure quality specifications.
• Together with the architectural and engineering teams, we develop early bid packages and assist in the preparation of a bidders lists, including evaluating and negotiating with selected vendors or subcontractors.
• We coordinate with the architect to identify viable trade and finish alternatives when necessary.

• Serve as the single point of responsibility for both design and construction services
• Contract with, manage and coordinate all architectural, engineering, and specialty design consultants
• Develop and maintain the project design to meet owner requirements, codes, and performance criteria
• Establish and manage the project budget, including cost estimating and value engineering
• Obtain and coordinate all permits, approvals, and regulatory compliance
• Perform or subcontract all construction work in accordance with approved design documents
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
